Analyzing the Operations of the Home Hydroelectric Power Systems
There’s this common misconception that hydropower production and generation is large scale, and as such the use of this renewable resource is reserved to large companies involved in power generation.

This is where you can find the home hydroelectric power systems and the micro hydro systems helpful. They are the same hydro power systems but the only difference is that these are the scaled down versions in terms of size and power output. The micro hydro systems and the home hydroelectric power system will not need the services of the dam common in many large-scale hydroelectric generation projects.

Two popular choices are the ‘Pelton’ turbines and the Francis-type turbines.
If these turbines are used as the basis for the home hydroelectric power system then it should follow that the output of the system should be in synch with the demand of the area or the household. If this will not happen then you can expect that the frequency and the voltage of the systems may spike thus this will have a grave impact on the hydro power kits and the related equipments. It is accepted that the demand of the household may vary from time to time since some home equipments are shot down, and some are turned on all at the same time. For this reason, when adopting the home hydroelectric power system you have to make sure that the supply of power must be varied as well and should be controlled.
And the good news is that this can be done by using a number of mechanisms, like the mechanical governor. This mechanism is the one that effectively manages the flow of the water to the turbine.
Another option is to use the electronic load controller that can switch the dump load on and off in order to monitor the shifting power requirements.
The dump load in many cases can be the electric heater that can be cooled by flowing water. There is no doubt in the use of the home hydro system; it just needs to be controlled in order to meet the required household power requirements.
