For the horizontal type of wheel, you can expect that based on the construction the wheel is seen inside the building and this is fitted and constructed just under the working floor. The surge of water that is directed to the paddles of the wheel is the one that pushes the wheel to turn, and this is the same force that generates the electricity for this type of water wheel. And then there is the undershot type of water wheel which is also known as the stream wheel. This is mounted vertically and this is pushed by the moving water that strikes the blades which are fitted at the bottom of the wheel. That same movement is the force that allows this type of water wheel to generate electricity.
The undershot type is considered as the oldest among the leading types of wheels, and some are saying as well that this is the least efficient in producing the electricity. But still, there are some people that construct this type of water wheel since this is easy to do. For the person maintaining a floating platform, then this type is just fine. And then there is the overshot type for water wheel hydro power. The electricity is produced here as the blades on top of the wheel are rotated by the falling water.
A water wheel power generator works in different ways, but you can expect the same output all throughout. And your choice will depend on the kind of water source inside the property.
